This is the Quincy character that I made for my friend Chris. Todays his birthday, and I gave him a copy of his characters profile and this picture. I used a bunch of different filters to get the texture in everything and I'm really proud of this, especially considering how badly I butchered Mailenex's new character sheet.

Well, that's probably all you wanted to hear out of me, so I'll just give you the info and be done with it:

Weapon

Name: Imeino Yaiba (Will of Blade)
Final Form Name: Ketteiteki Imeino Yaiba (Final Will of Blade)
Form: When in use, the color of the spirit particles used to make the bow is green instead of the typical white or blue. Mayuri explained that this is because the spirit particles are more concentrated when being used by Sochi, thus making Imeino Yaiba more powerful than typical Quincy bows.

**Because of his original design of being the most powerful Quincy, Sochi is able to use Final Form without losing his Quincy powers.
**Sochi has all standard and advanced Quincy abilities, including being able to fire multiple arrows at once.

Appearance

Sochi has short orange hair and brown eyes. His uniform is significantly different than those of his colleagues, his kosode and hakama being forest green
instead of black. His trademark is a long orange cloak that his held to him by an emerald clasp. Sochi also has his own form of sanrei glove, the notable difference being that it's orange where it should be white and brown where it should be blue. He wears the standard shinigami sandals, but does not where tabi with them. Another trademark is the very simple emerald stud he has pierced in his left ear.

Personality

In his debut, Sochi appeared to be very solemn, keeping to himself and keeping a quiet, but vicious attitude towards his enemies. Outside of battle, he is a caring soul, as seen when he decides to help the Ryoka during the Soul Society arc. As the series progresses, Sochi is tending to be more outgoing and turns into a fun-loving being, currently having more friends than before the start of the series.Near the end of the Soul Society arc, Sochi developed a close bond with Uryu Ishida, sharing very similar interests and ideals, and even having the same birthday. Sochi has even taken up trying to learn how to sew in order to develop more similarities with Uryu. Sochi revealed that his best friend used to be Kaname Tosen, before he betrayed the Soul Society, mostly because of their quiet, intellectual personalities. Amatsu stated himself that he doubts he'll ever find a soul that understands him as much as Kaname did, saying that Kaname lived his life in the dark while Sochi always had trouble seeing the light.

Although Sochi does not hold high respect for his father and creator, Mayuri Kurotsuchi, he does show a slight loyalty to him. When asked once by Kaname if it was out of fear of being destroyed by his creator, Sochi answered that it was simply because he pitied the man. It is evident that Mayuri does have a lot of pride when it comes to Sochi, although he does not show it. This is evident because of his name, "sochi" meaning "my son" and "amatsu" meaning "heavenly". Sochi is very close to and protective of his younger "sister", Nemu Kurotsuchi, though the two are rarely seen together outside of work. It should be noted that Mayuri never abuses Nemu like he normally does in front of Sochi. This is more than likely because he fears Sochi in some ways, maybe even realizing that he made his "son" too powerful.

It's apparent that Sochi is very popular with the women in the Soul Society, including Kiyone and Isane Kotetsu, Momo Hinamori, Nanao Ise, and Yachiru Kusajishi. However, he has only seemed to show a nervous affection toward a select few. Sochi actually confessed his love for Rangiku Matsumoto some time before the start of the series, but was turned down because he was "way too young" for her. Because of this, Sochi often feels somewhat humiliated in her presence, and avoids her whenever he can. He also seems to have a very nervous crush on Rukia Kuchiki, often picking flowers for her, but Rukia has stated (although not to Sochi himself) that she loves Sochi as a friend and nothing more. Sochi's most notable crush is on Yoruichi Shihoin, stating aloud that he had "fallen in love for the first time", which means that what Sochi thought was love with Rangiku may not have been more than a strong affection. Yoruichi is the first to take any positive reaction towards Sochi's shy advances, often flirting with him to make him nervous and accepting his gifts with relentless glee (often because his gifts are often things relating to cat products, such as a sparkling pink ball with a bell inside, which Yoruichi enjoys playing with, even when not in cat form).

Sochi, although willing to try new things, is very set on what he likes and doesn't like. His favorite foods are fugu (sliced poisonous puffer fish), peanut butter sandwiches, and karumetou (brown sugar cake). His favorite drinks are Sangaria and Amazake. His favorite color is green and his favorite time of year is spring. He strongly dislikes Ikizukuri (live sashimi), tofu, and tempura, although he does have this weird interest in poking tofu. His least favorite drinks are Calpis and Japanese whisky. He hates the color yellow and can't stand the cold during winter. Sochi's theme song is "Photograph" by 12 Stones.

History

Sochi is the result of several Quincy experiments preformed by Mayuri Kurotsuchi. Believing that Quincy weren't using as much power as they were capable of, Mayuri was set on creating "the Strongest Quincy". Sochi was created using Gigai and Artificial souls, much like Nemu. Though technically not a soul reaper in any sort of way, Sochi was able to become 3rd Seat of the 12th Division. It is revealed by Mayuri that he will not allow someone like Sochi, whose power could "corrupt the Soul Society", to hold a high position such as lieutenant, which is odd considering that a 3rd seat is not a very large step down, authority-wise.

It is presumed that Sochi has never been to the world of the living before the Bount arc, but this could be untrue considering his favorite foods and drinks.Not much else is known about Sochi’s past, except that he became close friends with Kaname at some point, and his love was rejected by Rangiku Matsumoto sometime before the series’ start.

Synopsis

Soul Society Arc
Sochi first appeared when the 12th Division confronted Uryu Ishida and Orihime Inoue. While Mayuri battled Ishida, Sochi was assigned the task of capturing Orihime to be Maryuri's test subject. When he was able to finally catch up to Orihime, she explains their plan to free Rukia from execution. Sochi, remembering a time when he gave flowers to Rukia, agrees to help them and escorts Orihime to Kenpachi Zaraki with the 11th Division member that was originally saving her.

When the recovered Ryoka, led by Kenpachi, is confronted by the 7th and 9th Division's captain and lieutenants, Sochi goes ahead of the group to "peg off anyone who'll stand in their way". He is not seen again until the Court Guard Squad trap Aizen, Gin, and Kaname, in which he is seen aiming arrows at all three traitors.

Sochi is last seen during the Soul Society arc where he is confronted by Yoruichi, in cat form, who thanks him for keeping Orihime safe. Unknown that the mysterious cat was Yoruichi, he goes on to daydream about her when he saw her stopping Aizen on Sokyoku Hill.

Bount Arc
Sochi plays a more significant role in the Bount arc. He is first seen alongside Nemu and Mayuri, who is fiercely studying the bounts as much as he can, but he is soon sent to the world of the living to investigate first-hand. Sochi appears with Shuuhei Hisagi during the first battle with the bount Mabashi. He does nothing upon Orihime's request and pulls out a camera, which he uses to capture pictures of the battle to send back to Mayuri. After Maki Ichinose retreats with Mabashi, Sochi proceeds to call back to the Soul Society, giving a detailed report of the battle to Nemu, who then relays it back to Mayuri.

Sochi is not seen at the Urahara Shop with the other soul reapers after the battles with the bounts. He goes off to find Yumichika to help him find the location of the bounts' hideout. It is revealed that Sochi did not want to see Rangiku, hinting that he may have still been slightly heartbroken from her rejection, which is revealed in a flashback. When the team swarms the hideout, he puts of a good fight against Ugaki's doll, Gesell, but he is ultimately defeated. He is not seen again until Uryu arrives and lets the bounts into the Soul Society.

In the Soul Society, Sochi immediately reports back to Mayuri, and is given orders to capture at least one of the bounts for study. He is slowed when he is attacked by Ritz-possessed soul reapers, who he defeats with ease. Sochi then fights alongside Uryu in the final battle with Yoshi. After the battle, when

Uryu asks him if he's disappointed he couldn't "drag another lab rat" to Mayuri, Sochi reveals that his intention all along was to destroy the bounts should he encounter any, stating that "none of those corrupted creatures should be kept alive".


Arrancar Arc
Sochi has an extremely small role in the Arrancar arc. He is only seen in the battle with Luppi, in which he is incapacitated and not seen again. Later in the series, Mayuri reveals to Uryu and Renji that Sochi is, indeed, alive and "getting impossibly stronger as we speak". This hints that the next time Sochi is seen, it can be assumed that he will have acquired newer and stronger abilities.
